another commission i did at the Pittsburgh con.

these are always a challenge to do because u have so many to do and so little time. plus i cant do them AT the shows, cause im signing and sketching that theres no time and its very difficult to focus. people are paying a pretty penny for these and i cant just crap it out.

i guess the most difficult part of this drawing was the hands. nobody really likes drawing hands and im one of them. they are in a very specific position and the right one is forshortened which makes a hard job even harder. but again i only get to spend an hour and half to two hrs on these so i cant dwell on it for too long.

another diff thing is the tilt in the head, plus trying to capture the sensual look. i find its easier to raise the jaw line to meet her nose thus, giving the illusion that the head is tilted down, rather than having the jaw line at the mouth where it should be. also lifting the nostrils a bit, again for the illusion of the tilt.

i dont normally like to draw these worriors like red sonja and wonder woman in thier normal "imma kick ur ass" stance. thats only cool on an actaul cover of a comic, so i went with a more calm pose. i kinda like it, i think its different

again, i dont get to use reference, cause i draw them at my hotel with no computer, bad lighting and no ref.

Very nice work. Even with the environmental limitations as listed. I'm working on a tattoo design for a friend which will consist of a not dissimilar character with a wolf in the foreground.
