hello everyone...sorry its been so long since i posted...but having the mrs move in has allowed me less and less time for anything....and we dont even have kids!! how u responsible adults do it, i'll never know!!

i thought i'd post something diff...this is what i do for a living...draw comics...its a tuff job from some...i personally like a lot of detail and it takes me forever to finish a page...hence why someone had to take over for me cause i was too slow and they needed to publish the damn thing. so this page will never see the light of day.

all those pics u see of the hot chicks i draw are actually side work...but work that pays the bills...so its hard to want to draw sequential pages that pays less...

also wanted to post this for all u nay-sayers that think all i can draw is neked chicks! while that does bring me great pleasure (cause they are nekid) this was my 1st love...drawing super hero's and men in tights...i will never stop drawing comics. its just too awesome...

neways....this was panel one: buncha guys walk into a room in response to a 911 call they just got..and they find a guy nailed to a wall and disembouled...

as i read the script this is what i saw in my head...it was pounded into me at topcow that composition is never sacrificed... this may sound easy...but when u have 7 guys in one panel...story telling gets a lil tuff...

the main focus is the center guy in the coat..(cause he's the main character)..so i knew i had to put him in the center..and try not to have him blocked by any of the other guys...and the second focal point is the guy nailed to the wall...i had to remember to put him on the right hand side cause we need to see him last to help with the "shock" effect....the detail on the background also helped frame the main guy with the white space behind him..its important for someone who loves detail to know when to "hold off" as to not over do it...the shadow cast on the wall also helps with the composition...and allows for a cool (at least i think so) silhouette guy on the far left...and its helps separate him from the guy right in from of him.

i hate drawing swat guys...all that damn gear and baggy clothes...me likey drawey spandex and bulging muscles!! i also hate drawing long trench coasts..i never studied this stuff so its always a guessing game with me...

and i have to sit back and try to envision how these guys would walk into a room...its fun but time consuming...a trick that i found helps me is holding the pencil real high up on the pencil so i can scribble the pose faster to help with the loose enegery and organic feel..i highly recommend this

and lastly...me is sad i didnt get to draw an ASS anywhere on here....

GO ASS!!!
