this is a cover for grim fairytails. drawn by me and stunning colores by christina strain..[link]

the owners wanted a very sexy cover to help sell the book cause it wont be in just comic shops...so they are in their meeting and they're like gee....who do we call for this..anyways i was told over and over to make sure its very sexy.

im not sure what goldie locks wears in the book, i never payed attention to it...i get paid to design just about everything they got, so i just took the liberty which is more fun for me...i know she wears a cloak and i was like i havent drawn an ass in quite some time...so with the very special request for sexy, why not have her bent over ( heh ) caressing her pet in a sultry "ur gonna die soon" look ?? it gives me the perfect chance to sho that ass!!! i was dieing to give her a thong but opted not too...sniff... go ass!!

i took a more unusual take on her costume cause i know no one would be looking at it...i mean im sure most eyes will go to where they were meant to...yes even u ladies..i put spikes at the top of her gloves and rivets through out her costume which i doubt they had back then. and an unorthodox way of tying the laces. and a weird pattern on her boots and weird riveted suspenders.... cut outs on her three fingers on her hands... again, i figure nobody would care. i love getting away with this stuff.

i didnt have much time to draw this one hence the lack of background. i hate leaving that much open space but knowing christina was gonna color it i was not worried about it. i really wanted to play with her expression too but didnt have the time...so instead it's a stock face. blah.

if some of u are wondering, no i didnt use any ref for this. some of you followers know that i dont need to anymore...stare at enough girls growing up and at the mall u tend to develop a good eye for them.

the basket was a pain. so i took a short cut and didnt make it a woven basket, i just stacked em..but the cool thing is that no matter what it looks very detailed cause of all the little lines..

the wolf was fun but a challenge. i have a set image in my mind as to what a werewolf looks like..so i didnt have any ref for this...i kinda just made it up...but the prob with that is that if u dont have an idea what the structure looks like then you're gonna have a hell a time trying to fix it. i had a hard time trying to figure how to match the drawing to the image in my head. first the eyes were too close together then too high...the snout was too long, then too short...but the hardest part was the fur...i liked the pointy look at the top of the head and sides.. but there was a time when it was too much, and too high.... took me awhile but i finally got it and am pretty happy with it. it's also tough to put rendering and fur in the same place and not make it look like a disaster.. like the muscles on the shoulder...came out ok

i like my wolves to have long thin arms and legs... solid shoulders and very high back...and big hands....but again the hands gave me trouble too, the hand on the right was drawn way too big at a time and came down past his other hand...the hands are very inspired by joe madurera.

i do like the high contrast in the girl and wolf...lots of black and whites that make for a striking image..

go ass

Congratulations, Ebas. I love the commentary, it gives life to your work through the story behind it. I do think I can see what you mean, where you might've been frustrated with the eyes. The wolf's right eye bothers me a little, but I wouldn't know where to begin with fixing it. Perhaps you'd add a bit more texture to the fur around it? Kudos either way.

I've done a woven basket in pen before, it's definitely not easy, but you make it look that way. Your attention to detail is beautiful and stunning!

I think I started to watch you after seeing that piece colored...Well, I think this is really amazing and so detailed and crisp all the way around. Absolutely phenomenal skill and technique put into this and I'm so envious! Superb all the way! :D

Love the depth of detail in the wolf :D It's Little Red Riding Hood though (Goldilocks is the one from Goldilocks and the Three Bears).
