sorry its been so long folks...been busy traveling and working, plus my girl from chicago moved in with me in LA, so life was turned up side down...and its awesome....life is good

i know this one is a lil dark, but we all have a dark side in our selves, and some are better at hiding it

this idea was tossed about awhile ago, and i dont remember who thought of it...but it doesnt matter cause its awesome

i had sent the layout to it to my editor and he said he was a lil disappionted cause he thought that she was going to be covered on blood....i didnt initially want any blood on her cause the only way that the blood would be there is if she JUST ripped the skin offa somebody....plus only a real psycho would put freshly ripped skin of a person "straight" onto their face....gross...but i thought about it for a bit and the idea grew on me for the shock factor and i also thought it would take away from the fact that she was naked under there and how big her boobs are... i think it worked out

i hate drawing faces tilted up...always a good chance it looking wierd and coming out wrong. its the most difficult angle to draw. and the nose usally comes looking to michael jackson-like. or the forehead being too big cause the lack of realizing foreshortening. and on top of that she is smiling in this pic and thats hard to do too...i didnt use ref on her face although i should...i like how adam hughes' faces alwasy look real and he uses ref.

i tried something a lil diff on her hair....i did this unnatural arch, right in the middle of her flowy hair. but i think its nice to try something new and if it doesnt work...at least u know u tried. i like the look and will continue to try and perfect it. i put blood dripping from her hair in hopes that the colorist would add stains to her hair but didnt oh well.

wasnt sure if anyone would notice, but there's stitching on the rim of the skin like u would have stitching on pants or a shirt....but its so small that i didnt think anyone would notice. put it in anyway.

pointing out the genius that i am...ready to feel bad about urself? ok good, i rendered the figure as if the light sourse was above her right shoulder (our right) and its obvious in the rendering on her legs...that there is a strong light sourse coming from her right....here is my genious that came into play....i drew the moon last...and i stupidly put the moon on her left...throughing off ALL laws of physics...so now the whole piece fell aprt...blah!! i cant believe i did that...

composition on the piece comes in where i tried not to have much directly behind her....wether it be shadows, leaves or towmbstones to make sure that the focus is not lost

to create an organic feel in the vines (below left) i threw a few upside down "U"s overlapping each other so they appear to look organic....and kept the ones on top white and rendered the middle one for the "grey" effect and shaded the rest in black for depth which is always important...

no chance to draw an ass on this one...sniff
